Scene 9

Return To The Barrio- I really enjoyed reading this scene because it showed more of how each personality was. I came to understand Henry's family more and how nice they were to stick by his side. I became intense when i started to read the part where Henry found out that Della had moved in and Alice had heard. I became intense because i knew how Henry was feeling at the moment since Alice his "crush" was there. Rudy quote was, "Henry Reyna went to Korea in 1950. He was shipped across in a destroyer and defended the 38th Parallel until he was kille din Inchon in 1952, being posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal Honor' pg.94. This quote was important to me because being a "minority" many upper class people seem to try to find the worse of us so they have something bad to say but Henry only showed those people different, so i was really proud of him.

Question: Would you have expected Henry of dying a different way?

Scene 8

The Winning Of The War- I found this scene boring and confusing. The people screamed "Freedom!!!" on page 87. I thought this quote was just to sum things up that we had won the war. I didnt really find anything interesting so thats why it was boring to me. And it was also confusing me because of all the dates and events that were happening.

Question: Would you call Rudy a better person than Henry just because he went to war?

Scene 7

Alice: I did enjoy this scene because it started to reveal the feelings that Henry and Alice had for eachother. "Its stupid for us to fight like this. I look foward to coming here for weeks. Just to talk to you, to be with you, to see your eyes." pg. 84, I thought this quote exposed alot of how Alice felt about Henry. Later on in the scene Henry then starts to show his feelings for Alice which i thought was crazy because Henry has a "girlfriend" back at home.

Question: Why do you think that Alice started to have feelings for Henry?
