The Peoples Lawyer- I thought that this section of the story was funny because the pachucos didnt end up finding out that George the "Lawyer" understood some spanish after they talked all thier mess about George. Pachuco: "Better check him out, ese. He looks like a cop." El Pachuco says this to Henry on page 40. I thought that this section was where the pachucos really had to give a good thought about who they were about to trust, which made it so much more interesting. But over all i eally did enjoy this section of the story.
Question- If you were in Henry's position would you have trusted george right off the back? Why?

I wouldn't have trusted George from the beginning simply because during this time it was hard to trust anyone, especially someone from the law enforcement. All they attempted to do was to screw you over and bind you to the bars of a jail cell. Even more so, I would be Henry Reyna, and I know I'd be like a sausage in the middle of a pack of hungry dogs: WANTED.
ReplyDeleteNo i would have not trusted George because at the time there were so many people trying to throw Henry on the ground. They wanted Henry locked up in prison for what had occurred in the Sleepy Lagoon Murder. I wouldn't had been able to trust him or anyone else until they truly proved to me that they weren't affiliated with the police or any other form of investigation group. Because I know I was WANTED like Jess stated before me.
